Tier  1 General – Points Calculator – Earnings Section
                    Tier 1 (General) Scheme allows you to score  points for your earnings during past 12 months. You can score maximum 75 points  for your Earnings under Tier 1 (General) Scheme for Highly Skilled. Your  earnings are converted into £ i.e. GBP and then based on the country where you  earned the income, an uplift factor is used to arrive at UK equivalent  earnings. 
                    You can score maximum 75 points for your Earnings  under Tier 1 (General) Scheme for Highly Skilled. 
                    From 06/04/2010 you can score points for Earnings only if you have earnings £25,000 or more.
                    From 06/04/2010 you can score 75 qualifying points for Earnings of over £150,000 which means you may qualify under Tier 1 General even if you do not have a Bachelor's degree level education.
   
                    Your gross earnings before tax over a total  period of up to 12 months out of the 15 months immediately prior to your  application will be assessed. The earnings can be for any 12 month continuous  period out of the last 15 months. This applies if you are in salaried or  non-salaried employment.
                    Your total part-time earnings over a period  of up to 12 months in the 15 months prior to your application can also be  considered. You can also include your total earnings from several jobs over  this period. Earnings do not have to be with a single employer. 
                    Earnings from Self-employment can also be  included.
                    
                    
                                        
                    
                        Earnings Section for Tier 1 (General) Scheme – Max Points  45
                        
                            Tier 1 General for Highly Skilled allows  you to score a maximum of 45 Points for your Earnings during past 12 months out  of 15 months. It is important to note that even if you have undertaken full-time  studies during past 12 months you will be awarded points only for 12 months out of 15 months immediately prior to your application. Only if you have been away from work due to Maternity  Leave or for Adoption of a child, you can consider the period immediately prior to your starting Maternity / Adoption Leave to calculate your earnings. Your local currency  earnings are then converted to GBP as per the Rate of Exchange available from  oanda.com for the last day of your earnings. These Earnings in GBP are then  converted to the UK  equivalent earnings and the points are awarded. Please contact us if you need  any help in this regard.
