You can score maximum 45 points for your Education under Tier 1 (General) Scheme for Highly Skilled. You should have completed a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or Ph. D. (Doctorate) from a recognised university and these qualifications should be equivalent to a UK Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate qualifications to score the points.

Tier 1 General for Highly Skilled allows you to score a maximum of 45 Points for your Educational Qualifications. Please note that if you have a Professional and Vocational Qualification such as Membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants etc. you will need to obtain a letter of equivalence from equivalent professional body in the UK. For your qualifications earned at a recognised university / institution, you can refer your qualifications to UK NAIRC - The National Academic Recognition Information Centre for the United Kingdom with their prescribed fees and they will inform you the UK equivalent of the qualification you may have. From 31 March 2009, you were required to have a minimum of Master's Degree equivalent to Master's Degree from a UK university to score points for your education. Bachelor's degree had no points, however the same have been restored from 06/04/2010.
