Apply as an Adult Dependant if You Require Ongoing Care by a Family Member.
Apply for Indefinite Leave To Enter if you need long-term care and your family member is Settled in the UK.
If you are over 18 and living outside the UK and your immediate family member is either settled in the UK or is a British Citizen, you may be able to apply for Indefinite Leave to Enter as an adult dependant if you have health issues and you need long-term care and support.
Your immediate family includes a parent, grandchild, brother, sister, son or daughter who is living permanently in the UK.
Your close family member can sponsor you if he / she is a British citizen or is settled in the UK i.e. have indefinite leave to remain or have settled status as an EEA national. To support your visa application your family member should be able to demonstrate the proof of permanent residence in the UK.
You may be able to apply if your family member has a refugee status or humanitarian protection in the UK.
If your family member has settled status as an EEA national, you may also be eligible to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme or for a family permit to come to the UK.
You can apply only if you are able to prove that you need long-term care and help to do your day-to-day personal and household tasks because of illness, disability or your age.
You must also demonstrate that this care and support you need is not available or affordable in the country you live in and there is no other close family member who can provide this care.
Your family member, who is living permanently in the UK, and whom you will join in the UK, must be able to support, accommodate and care for you without claiming public funds for at least 5 years.
If your application is successful, you will be granted indefinite leave to enter and you will be able to live in the UK permanently if your family member is permanently settled in the UK or is a British citizen.
However, if your family member has a refugee status or humanitarian protection in the UK, you may be able to live in the UK as long as your family member stays and you will need to apply to extend or settle when they apply for visa extension or settlement.
