Use correct application form to settle in the UK based on which immigration category you have lived.
Home Office has prescribed different application forms to apply for settlement or permanent residency or indefinite leave to remain based on the category or type of your visa during your qualifying stay in the UK.
Apply online using form SET(O)
Use the SET(O) form to apply online if you are currently living in the UK under any of the following categories and have completed qualifying period of stay:
- work permit holder
- dependant of work permit holder
- PBS dependant
- employment not requiring a work permit
- businessperson
- innovator
- investor
- self-employed lawyer
- writer, composer or artist
- Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) migrant
- Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) migrant - accelerated route
- Tier 1 (Investor) migrant
- Tier 1 (Investor) migrant - accelerated route
- Tier 2 migrant
- UK ancestry
- bereaved partner
- other purposes not covered by other application forms
You should check your eligibility before you apply. If you are eligible to apply you will find guidance on how to complete your application and the evidence you need to provide within the online application form.
Apply online using Form SET(LR)
If you are applying on the basis of ten years continuous stay in the UK under any legal category, you should use the form SET(LR).
Apply online using Form SET(M)
If you are applying to settle in the UK as the partner of a person, or parent of a child, who is in the UK and settled here use form SET(M).
Apply online using Form SET(F)
If you are applying to settle in the UK as a child under 18, use form SET(F)
Please remember that you will need to meet usual other requirements like meeting the Knowledge of English Language and passing Life in the UK Test.
If your settlement application is refused for any reasons including general grounds for refusal, your visa application fee, which is £2,389 currently, will not be refunded. And if you are applying along with your dependants their applications will be refused automatically when your ILR application is refused.
